Privacy
know.sh is a personal research notebook. You keep research docs, findings, and campaigns in it, and you can connect AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT to it through the know.sh MCP server so they can read and write that notebook on your behalf. This page explains what we store, why, and how to have it removed.
What we store
- Your account. You sign in with Google through the know.sh identity host. We keep the name, email address, and account identifier Google returns, so we can recognise you and keep your notebook separate from everyone else's.
- Your research content. Everything you or an assistant you connected writes into your notebook: research docs, findings, campaigns, their titles and categories, and the earlier revisions kept so changes can be reviewed.
- Assistant access. When you connect an AI assistant, we record the client it registered as and issue it OAuth access and refresh tokens tied to your account. We keep these so the assistant can keep working without asking you to sign in again, and so you or we can revoke them.
- Server logs. Our servers log requests (time, path, IP address, and errors) to keep the service running and secure. Logs are kept only as long as needed for that.
How we use it
Only to run know.sh for you: to sign you in, store and show your notebook, answer the tool calls your connected assistants make, and keep the service secure. Your content is sent to an assistant only when that assistant is connected to your account and calls a know.sh tool. What the assistant then does with it is governed by that assistant provider's own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data or share it for anyone else's marketing.
- We do not run third-party advertising or advertising trackers.
- We do not read your notebook except when you ask us to help with a problem, or when needed to keep the service secure.
Who else processes it
Google, to sign you in. Our hosting and database providers, to run the servers and store the data. If you use the assistant built into know.sh, the messages you send it and the notebook content it reads go to the language-model provider that powers it, to generate its replies.
Your choices
- Disconnect an assistant from that assistant's connector or MCP settings at any time.
- Delete your account by emailing curtis.turner@know.sh from the address you sign in with. We delete your account, your research content, and every token issued to your assistants, and confirm by email once it is done.
- Get a copy of your content, or ask what we hold about you, at the same address.
Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Every request is tied to your account, and each notebook is only readable by the account that owns it.
Children
know.sh is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
